Mount Panorama / Wahluu
The Mountain, the legend!
Bathurst’s Mount Panorama Racing Circuit is famous in Australia and around the world for hosting several major events on the Australian and International motor sporting calendar, attracting crowds in droves each year.
While the engine revving and hairpin bends undoubtedly put Bathurst on the map, the appeal of the mountain goes far beyond its motor sporting prowess.
The Mountain also plays host to a number of other events throughout the year, including the Inland Sea of Sound music festival, the Bathurst Cycling Classic, the Panorama Punish, and community gatherings such as the annual Garage Sale in the pit complex.
Mount Panorama is called Wahluu in the Wiradjuri language, and the mountain is a significant site to the Wiradjuri people, both past and present.
The Racing Circuit is a public road outside race periods, so yes, you can drive around the iconic Mount! And there are a few sights to see along the way…
