Hill End’s heritage-listed Royal Hotel offers rustic charm for all ages to enjoy. Built in 1872, the hotel features lush grounds, trees and lawn, as well as a tranquil beer garden out the back.
In its heyday, Hill End had enough thirsty residents to service a whopping 28 pubs. Now, the Royal Hotel is the only remaining public house in town, offering drinks and dining in its licensed bar, the family-friendly dining room and garden bistro.
Shoot some pool, check out the memorabilia from days of old, relax by the wood fire in winter or refuel before discovering the heritage attractions and gold-mining relics on a self-guided or guided tour.
There is accommodation for 22 people available in various configurations, family rooms, doubles, twins or singles. A pool room with a log fire, pool table, jukebox, darts and TV is available to all and children are welcome in this area of the hotel.
