Visit a Pub to the East

Pints to Past – Historic Pubs Eastern Trail

Take a trip out to the east of Bathurst where the rolling hills of the O’Connell plains open to the heartland of Bathurst’s agricultural heritage.

With only an hour of travel time this itinerary will take you across the eastern plains of Bathurst Visiting three Iconic Pubs. The O’Connell Hotel (Est 1865) located in the National Trust Recognised Village of O’Connell, the Tarana Hotel (Est 1873) right in the centre of the historic railway town of Tarana, and the Hotel Alexander Rydal Pub (Est 1914) known for it’s authentic country hospitality.

The itinerary isn’t just about the pubs through, there are plenty of places to stop along the way. If you are traveling on a weekend stop into the Bathurst Grange Distillery (Est 1823) which over it’s long 200 years of operation as a farmstead, has been visited by many famous characters including Brett Whiteley and Charles Darwin
