TRACKS & STEAM
April 28 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Hear the whistle of the steam, smell the coal in the air, feel the rhythm of the click and clack as the train leaves the platform heading down the tracks. Anticipation is in the air as Keppel Street awakens and the Railway comes to life with the hustle and bustle of people. On 4 April 1876, Bathurst Railway station was opened with fanfare and ceremony, and the Great Western Railway arrived in town. What would the Railway bring? Visitors, businesses, education. How did the railway make its mark on Keppel Street? Come and hear the stories of Keppel Street, its people, and the influence of the railway with Kim Bagot-Hiller. Complimentary glass of wine on arrival.
Doors open at 6pm for a 7pm start. Presentation 7pm – 8pm
$20 per person – bookings essential
