Blondie, pioneers of American punk & new wave scene & emerged to be known for eclectic mix of styles disco, pop, reggae & early rap music.
Blondie were one of the pioneers of the mid-1970s American punk and new wave scene and emerged to be one of the most commercially successful acts. Originally called Angel and the Snake, sweethearts Deborah “Debbie” Harry (vocals) and Chris Stein (guitarist) changed the band’s name to Blondie in 1974, and the rest is history!
With hit singles including “Heart of Glass”, “Call Me”, “Rapture”, “Atomic” and “The Tide Is High” Blondie became known for its eclectic mix of musical styles incorporating elements of disco, pop, reggae, and early rap music.
Blondie admirers Melissa Stanford, Hughie Brown, Paul Burge, Pete Thoms and Mark Bradbury can’t wait to perform some of the very best of Blondie for the Agrestic audiences. The gigs will be pumping with hits that will get you dancing, singing, and reminiscing.
Fun fact – Blondie’s first commercial success came in Australia in 1977, when COUNTDOWN accidentally played the band’s video for ‘In the Flesh’, which was the B-side of the single ‘X-Offender’. The band have cited this as the initial source for their success.
