Safety of Life at Sea – The Victoria Bathurst

The Safety of Life at Sea return for their first Bathurst performance since the release of their album Let the River Go – a heady mix of original blues, soul, 60’s/70’s rock and Americana. Recorded at singer/pianist/songwriter Kris Schubert’s Boatshed studio nestled in the wild hills of central NSW and engineered/mixed by guitarist Stephen Helman, the album builds on the style and vibe of 2017’s release Foxy’s Farm.
The rhythm section of Lian Wong on bass and Tony Bibby on drums and percussion take a leaf out of the books of Motown and Stax, and the piano went for a weekend in New Orleans and never quite came back.
With special guests Gabby Forshaw and Emily Butler playing a beautiful blend of acoustic guitars and harmonies.
