‘No Ordinary Life’ – Author Talk with Anne Hutchison

Anne returns to the library to discuss her second book ‘No Ordinary Life’ about her parent’s experience of World War II and how it brought them to Australia. Anne will discuss in detail her research and the detective work it took to fit together all the pieces of the puzzle as well as comparing the process of writing historical biography to memoir.
No Ordinary Life – The true story of a young couple’s experience of World War II and its influence on their lives.
From war torn Glasgow and the battlefields in France, North Africa and a small Greek Island in the Aegean, to life in a German POW Camp and a timber camp in the Highlands of Scotland.
They left Scotland as ‘Ten Pound Poms’ and established a new life in Australia to get away from memories of a war best left behind.
