From Tipperary to Limkilns: The Chifleys of Limekilns – Autumn Colours Heritage Festival Event

It’s a long way from Tipperary to Limekilns: four months by ship and 3 years to Bathurst and then to Limekilns to be exact! Landing in Sydney in 1859, 26 year old immigrant Patrick Chifley married Mary Dee from Galway in 1859. By 1862, they were settled in the Bathurst area. The story of their famous grandson, Ben Chifley, is known but where did it all begin? Bring a chair, and a picnic. Sit and listen to the story of Patrick and the Chifleys of Limekilns. Lunch and refreshments provided at the end of tour.
