It’s about time, shared time, common shared principles, sounds and instruments. It’s about a time and place – and the placement of time. The swing, the groove, the space, the clave, 2/3, 3/2, – shared and common elements. In Common Time, Synergy Percussion brings together percussive brethren through the pairing of Western 20th & 21st Century art music, improvising jazz groove and Afro-Latin percussion artists – and more – to explore the differences and commonalities of their artistic approaches.
