Visitors to Bathurst can now join racing legend Craig Lowndes for a lap of Mount Panorama with Bathurst Tourism’s new tour app, which launches today as the Bathurst 1000 kicks off. The six-time Bathurst 1000 winner, and now honorary citizen of Bathurst, narrates the tour around the iconic racing circuit which features 21 segments including the history of Mount Panorama, legendary race moments, and key sections of the track including Hell Corner, Pit Straight and Griffin’s Bend.
‘Mount Panorama: A Lap with Craig Lowndes’ is the first tour to launch in the Bathurst – Step Beyond app which is designed to bring the stories of the Bathurst region to life and enhance the visitor experience.
The app also features a tour of Mayfield Garden with gardening guru Graham Ross, while upcoming tours to be added in coming months will include the Town Square, Machattie Park and Hill End.
The app is produced by Acoustiguide of Australia, a part of the worldwide Acoustiguide Group, and is the first Australian addition to a new category of international app experiences known as ‘Culture City’. Acoustiguide – who have been operating since 1957 – have previously worked with many prestigious international sites including Statue of Liberty, Alcatraz and the Tower of London and the National Gallery of Australia.
Visitors can download the app for FREE from the Apple Store or Google Play.
