For some it's a rush for others it's a pilgrimage. Bathurst has a long association with motor racing dating back to 1911 when motor cyclists took to the dirt roads in the region.

Over the years many forms of motor racing have taken place here with the Vale Circuit attracting motor cyclists between 1931 and 1937. In 1938 the Mount Panorama motor racing circuit held its first race and the rest is history.
